David Clark: "The Early Days of the ATC", the Peter van der Linden Lecture (20 July 1999)
In 1999 Dr. David Clark, former Physician Superintendent of Fulbourn Hospital and one of the founders of the Association of Therapeutic Communities, was asked to give the annual Peter van der Linden Lecture to the ATC's Windsor Conference. He was not well enough to travel, so PETT archivist Craig Fees recorded Dr. Clark at his home in Cambridge. When the video was presented at Windsor it inspired a small rebellion, with a sizeable number of participants refusing to end the subsequent Large Group when time was formally called and the convenor left the room. Memories from others about this event would be welcome. The video here was uploaded to the pettarchiv.org.uk soon after, occasioning a number of requests for CD copies, as agreed by Dr. Clark.
