The Mulberry Bush Third Space (formerly the Barns Archive and Study Centre) incorporating the Planned Environment Therapy Archive and the National Childcare Library.

A picturesque and peaceful rural site in the heart of the Cotswolds just 12 miles from Cheltenham with indoor and outdoor space for conferences, training courses, workshops, seminars, study and research and for use by schools, clubs and groups. Additionally, the meadow can cater for a variety of outdoor activities, such as mindfulness and meditative relaxation and is ideal for schools and youth groups offering outdoor education and camping including a fire-pit.

The Planned Environment Therapy Archive holds substantial collections on the history of adult, prison and children’s therapeutic communities and environments including children’s homes and schools offering alternative education. We are open to individuals, schools and organisations who may want to find out more and research into the history of community/collective and relational therapeutic living and healing.

The National Childcare Library is an extension of the archive available for research purposes. The library also holds a large collection of books relating to adult therapeutic communities and environments.
