Jeremy Harvey, Ph.D.
From PETT-Wiki
Reading about George Lyward's work at Finchden Manor took me away from ordination into the realms of teaching,, where after teaching English and some R.E. in both public and state schools, I was appointed Headteacher of Bishop Fox's Grammar School in Taunton (Somerset) in 1978, with the task of turning a Girl's Grammar into a mixed 11-16 Comprehensive (which later became a Community) School. While at Taunton and Bishop Fox's I complete a Ph.D.. (Exeter University) on George Lyward, which is now in the PETT archive. I retired from teaching this March (1997) in order to concentrate more on writing and art (looking at pictures and painting). I'm hoping to write a book on "Learning Through Conversation", and after that I would like to write a biography of a 20th century key figure in the field of the arts or education or the Anglican Church. My voluntary work includes helping as a Reader in the local parish, serving as Company Secretary for the Fellowship of Meditation, and also of the Somerset Counselling Centre. My interests include walking, especially with the family; travel; golf and tennis; and gardening.
